The Truth About Cars offers a positive review of the new XC70 - http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/volvo-xc70-review-2/.
I particularly like their description of the interior - "the XC70’s interior design is like an Audi for long-sighted, glove-wearing architects."
I agree with all of what they say, and especially the suggestion to sell a stripped-out version for $10,000 less. This would make the car a great utility vehicle for families, outdoor types and various outdoor occupations like engineers, vets and technicians who often have to go off road with some gear, but lack the need for a full off-roader or even a soft-roader. The Skoda Octavia Scout and Subaru Forester hang out in this niche presently.
